Sadaqah Jariyah

Give a Quran. Give a Child a Lifetime With It.

For an orphan memorising the Quran, a personal mushaf is not a gift. It is the one tool the whole of their education depends on — and many of them share a single worn copy between four.

Why This Matters

A Student Who Has Memorised Half the Quran, Sharing One Copy With Four Others

“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”

Sahih al-Bukhari

In hifz madrasas across Bangladesh, orphaned children spend six to eight hours a day with the Quran. They are up before Fajr to revise. They recite until the words settle.

It is demanding work, and it asks a great deal of a child who has already lost a parent. Many of them do the whole of it without owning the one thing it requires.

Copies get shared between classmates, handled until the binding gives, and passed down until the print is hard to read. A student who cannot see the text clearly cannot memorise it accurately. A student waiting for a turn loses hours of revision every week.

For families who cannot afford food and clothing, a quality mushaf is unaffordable. The cost is ten dollars. The consequences of going without it can last for years.

Your Impact

One Quran, Years of Recitation

Your donation gives a hifz student their own Quran to read, memorise, and learn from, earning ongoing rewards with every recitation.

A copy of their own

No more waiting, no more straining at faded print. A student with their own mushaf can revise whenever they have a free hour.

Accuracy in memorisation

Clear Uthmani script, properly printed. What a child memorises from a legible copy, they memorize correctly—and carry for life.

A hafiz for the community

A child who completes hifz leads prayers, teaches others, and becomes a fixture of their village for decades.

Reward with every letter

This is sadaqah jariyah Quran in its most direct form. Every letter recited from the copy you funded continues your reward, for as long as it is read.

Stories of Impact

From the Students and the Donors

Real accounts from the students who received a Quran and the people who gave them.

“One or two sentences on what having their own copy changed. Guardian and madrasa consent required.”

“What a class with enough copies looks like compared to one without. A teacher’s account carries more weight than a child’s here, and raises no consent complications.”

“Someone who gave in a parent’s name. These convert better than any other kind of testimonial on a sadaqah jariyah page.”

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to donate a Quran? +

USD 10 provides one student with a personal, durable mushaf they keep for the whole of their memorisation.

How do I donate a Quran online? +

Choose how many you want to give above and complete payment. The whole thing takes under two minutes, and you receive confirmation immediately.

Who receives the Qurans? +

Orphaned and low-income students in hifz programmes at SPAR’s partner madrasas in Bangladesh. The madrasas identify students in genuine need and SPAR verifies each list before purchase.

Is donating a Quran sadaqah jariyah? +

Yes, and it is among the clearest cases. A Quran that continues to be recited from and taught out of keeps benefiting people long after it was given, which is the definition of ongoing charity.

Can I give a Quran as a gift in someone’s name? +

Yes. You can donate a Quran in the name of someone else, including a parent or loved one who has passed away, as an act of Sadaqah Jariyah. Once your donation is received, you will receive a confirmation email within 1–2 days. To dedicate your donation to someone else, simply reply to that confirmation email with their name, and we will assist you accordingly.

When are the Qurans distributed? +

Distributions run through the year, with the largest before Ramadan — when demand is highest and many donors give their Ramadan sadaqah.

What kind of Quran is provided? +

A quality-printed mushaf in clear Uthmani script, bound to withstand years of daily use.

Will I receive proof? +

Yes — photographs from the distribution, the madrasa name and location, and the number of students who received a copy.
