Ramadan Iftar Program: Feed the Fasting in 2026

Picture this moment. The sun sets. The sky turns orange. You sit at your dining table. You see a full spread of food. You see dates. You see cold water. You see fruit. You wait for the call to prayer. You feel ready to eat.

Now, picture a different home.

A mother sits on a dirt floor in a village in Bangladesh. Her children sit next to her. They are hungry. They are thirsty. But their mat is empty. They have only water. They might have a handful of dry rice. They wait for the call to prayer too. But they feel fear, not joy.

You can change this picture.

This is why we run the Ramadan Iftar program.

At the SPAR Project, we believe hunger should not exist in Ramadan. This month is for prayer. It is not for starvation. When you join our team, you remove their hunger. You replace their worry with smiles.

In this post, we will explain the power of feeding others. We will show you where your money goes. We will prove how a small gift changes a life forever.

The Big Reward for Feeding Others

Why do we talk about food in Ramadan? It is not just about eating. It is about a promise from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

He gave us amazing news. He said:

“Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like his, without decreasing the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.” (Tirmidhi)

Think about that.

If you feed a family of five through our Ramadan Iftar program, you get the reward of their fasting.

  • You’re fast one day.
  • You get the reward of six days (your fast + the 5 people you fed).
  • You do this for the whole month. You earn years of worship in just 30 days.

This is the best deal you will ever find. You multiply your good deeds just by buying dinner for someone else.

What is the SPAR Project Ramadan Iftar Program

What is the SPAR Project Ramadan Iftar Program?

We like to keep things simple. We want your donation to work hard.

Our program focuses on “Food Packs.” We do not just give one hot meal for one night. We give a big bag of groceries. We design these packs to last a family for a long time.

We search for the people who need help the most:

  • Widows who have no husband to earn money.
  • Orphans who have no father to buy food.
  • Daily laborers who cannot find work.
  • Refugees who live in crowded camps.

When you donate, you start a chain of kindness. We buy the food. We pack the bags. We drive to the villages. We hand the food directly to these families.

What Is Inside a Food Pack

What Is Inside a Food Pack?

Donors ask us this often. You want to know what you buy. We believe in being open.

We pick food that is healthy and filling. We choose local food that Bangladeshi families love. A typical pack in our Ramadan Iftar program includes:

  • Rice: This meal gives them energy for the day.
  • Lentils (Dal): This provides strong protein.
  • Cooking Oil: They need this to cook every meal.
  • Dates: They use these to break the fast, just like the Prophet (ﷺ) did.
  • Sugar & Salt: These add taste and energy.
  • Chickpeas (Chola): This is a special Ramadan treat in Bangladesh.

We buy these items in large amounts. This gets us low prices. Your money buys more food with us than at the store.

The Hard Truth in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a beautiful country. But life is hard there. Prices go up every day. Food gets expensive.

Think about a rickshaw puller. He works in the hot sun. He fasts for 14 hours. He sweats all day. He wants to pray. But he worries about his children. If he does not work, they do not eat.

  • He is worn out.
  • He is hungry.
  • He is stressed.

This traps him in poverty. He pushes his body too hard. He gets sick.

Your gift to the Ramadan Iftar program stops this cycle. When we give a father a food pack, his face changes. The stress goes away. He knows his family will eat. He can rest. He can focus on his prayers.

How Much Does It Cost?

You do not need to be rich to help. Charity in Islam is about love, not just big numbers.

At the SPAR Project, we keep our costs low.

  • $1 buys a hot meal for one person.
  • $30 buys a big food pack for a whole family.
  • $100 feeds many families or funds a village feast.

Think about your Iftar. A meal at a restaurant costs $20 or $30. For the same price, you can fill a poor family’s kitchen for weeks.

Can I Use Zakat Money?

People constantly ask this. Can you pay for food with Zakat?

Yes, you can.

Zakat:

You can use Zakat for the Ramadan Iftar program. The people we help are impoverished. They qualify for Zakat. This gesture fulfills your duty. It is a great way to pay your 2.5% tax.

Sadaqah:

This is voluntary charity. You can give this amount for yourself. You can give it to your parents. You can give it if you ask Allah to cure a sickness.

We accept both types of money. We separate them. We make sure Zakat goes only to the right people.

A Story of Hope: Meet Fatema

Let us tell you about Fatema. She lives in a small village in Sylhet. Her husband died last year. She has three young kids.

Last Ramadan, she told our team a sad story.

“I was scared. I had no rice in the jar. I told my kids we would only drink water for Iftar. They cried. Then, your van came. You gave us a heavy bag. We opened it. We saw oil, lentils, and dates. My kids laughed. We ate well that night. We prayed for you.”

This is real life. Your online donation creates real food. You saved Fatema’s month. You can do it again this year.

Catch the Rewards of the Last Ten Nights

Do you know about the Last Ten Nights? They hold a special secret. It is Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power).

This night is better than 1,000 months. Any good deed on this night counts for 83 years.

Imagine you donate to the Ramadan Iftar program on this night.

  • You feed a hungry person for 83 years.
  • You get the reward of their fasts for 83 years.

We suggest a smart plan. Give some money now to help them start Ramadan. Give more money in the last ten nights to catch the big rewards.

A Note for Your Soul

We often think charity lowers our bank balance. But the Prophet (ﷺ) promised us something else. He swore that charity never decreases wealth. It increases it. It brings Barakah (blessings).

This Ramadan, do not just fast. Feed.

Do not just eat. Share.

The SPAR Project is ready. The families are waiting. The food is ready to go. We just need you.

Final Thoughts: Answer Their Prayers

Every evening, hungry people raise their hands. They ask Allah for food. They ask Allah for help.

When you contribute to the Ramadan Iftar program, you become part of the solution. Allah uses your hands to distribute His gift. The gesture is a huge honor.

Do not let this month go by. Fill a plate. Fill a heart. Earn your place in Paradise.

Can I donate for my parents who passed away?

Yes, you can. This is called Sadaqah. Giving food for a deceased parent is a beautiful deed. It benefits them in their grave. You set the intention in your heart. Allah delivers the reward to them.

Does this count as Zakat?

Yes. Most families we help are impoverished. They have no money. They qualify for Zakat. When making a donation, please indicate if it is intended for Zakat. We will spend it correctly.

How big is one food pack?

The price changes a little, but usually, it is $30 to $50. This pack holds enough dry food (rice, lentils, and oil) to last a family for a large part of Ramadan.

Do you give cooked food or raw food?

We mostly give raw food packs. This is better. Families can cook what they like. They can cook when they like. It lasts longer than one hot meal. But sometimes, for big community meals, we cook the food for them.

Where do you distribute the food?

We work mostly in Bangladesh. We go to poor villages. We also help Rohingya refugees. These are some of the poorest people on earth.

Can I come and help?

We love volunteers! If you are in Bangladesh, please let us know. But for most people, the best way to help is with money. Our local team handles the hard work to keep everyone safe.

Is it too late to donate?

It is never too late. If you donate late in the month, we still give the food. Families need to eat after Ramadan too. Furthermore, we give Fitrana packs before Eid. Your late donation helps them celebrate Eid with a full stomach.
